Launched
at 100% Design London 2008, Tie and Buckle are two of the new
lighting pieces added to the Innermost lighting selection for
Spring 2009. The 2009 range will include new pieces of furniture and accessories
by designers Anthony Dickens and Shin Azumi and lighting by Winnie
Lui.
Buckle, the latest creation by in-house Innermost designer Tina
Leung, it is a marriage of lighting and sculpture. Buckle consists
of differently sized rings a cut from very thin stainless steel
sheets suspended and arranged in a spherical form. Each ring bends
and twists in its own manner, drooping naturally over the fixing
points. The overall look is sculptural producing dramatic optical
effects as the structure is lit from internally. In future, the
design will be developed in two sizes.
Finish: Gloss White & Polished Steel
Designed by Peter Mac Cann, the Tie pendant is a steel and aluminium
construction consisting of concentric; roll formed panels painted
in two tones. Steve Jones, co-founder of Innermost, is particularly
excited about this new collaboration with Peter Mac Cann and Made*
- “their designs have a simple but elegant engineered quality
that hides the complexity that has gone into creating them”.
In future, the design will be developed into a series including
floor lamp, wall lamp and mini pendant.
