Innermost, the London and Hong Kong-based lighting and homewares group took part in 100% Design (20-23 Sept), Eureka 2007 (18-25 Sept) as part of the London Design Festival this year. Important new lighting designs were on show at both Innermost’s stand (B14) and - as the result of an invitation from Tom Dixon, 100% Design’s Design Director - around the exhibition itself.

The new products are the results of Innermost’s latest collaborations with leading designers and this year include designs by top names, Michael Young, Russell Samson, together with new talent, Winnie Lui. On show at Eureka is a new light designed by Massimo Fenati, to whom Innermost was introduced by Eureka organiser, Design-Nation, and is scheduled for formal launch in the international markets early in 2008.

Innermost’s lighting designs for 07/08 are as exciting and as varied as they are challenging for the Innermost team to realise in full-scale commercial production. ‘We refuse to pigeonhole ourselves with a house look,’ says Russell Cameron, co-founder of Innermost. ‘We respond to and take on each design on its merits and because of the challenges it gives us making them.’

Michael Young, Sticklight

A completely new edition of Michael Young’s landmark Sticklight, coincidentally marking its launch by Eurolounge ten years ago and underlining its iconic status. Now entirely re-engineered by Innermost, the new Sticklight now has a longer tube for greater illumination, can be used freestanding or on a stand, while its new specification allows outdoor versions to be produced for the first time. Plans are afoot for limited edition options in 2008. The product is now exclusive to Innermost worldwide.

Michael Young, Barware
Icebucket, 6 glasses & muddlers
Innermost is also making and marketing Young’s stunning designs for bar ware launching in the UK this autumn, following its successful launch earlier this year in other markets. A stainless steel ice bucket, with double wall construction, and set of six hi ball glasses are complemented by the chrome-finish ‘muddlers’. A range with coloured muddlers is in the Innermost pipeline for 2008.

Winnie Lui
White/Black limited edition chandeliers

Lui’s began using incidental objects in her jewellery designs, creating necklaces using a medley of other everyday objects. Innermost commissioned her to make this special limited edition of 50 White and 50 Black chandeliers, each different and composed of hundreds of found, made or embellished everyday objects – objets trouvés meet bling.

Russell Samson, Array table lamp
Stainless steel - dia 450mm, h 405mm
Sheaves of stainless steel unfold around the bulb of this new design by Samson, providing both the overall structure and the shade for the lamp. Precision engineered in double-sided high polish stainless steel, heavy and high quality, this is a real statement piece of a table lamp.
